Testimonials
I highly recommend Dale
For the past eight years, I have been a student of Dale Spina. While I have been a lifelong golfer, I never had any lessons until my mid-50s. Dale has improved all aspects of my game immensely. Despite some physical limitations with my knees and neck, Dale has successfully provided me with techniques which have allowed me to continue to play golf and enjoy the game. Dale Spina is a top-notch instructor. I highly recommend Dale for anyone at any age and level of play. Andy, Bayside.
Dale Spina, thank you for all of your help.
Dale Spina is the Golf Pro at Alley Pond Golf Center in Douglaston, NY. I am a Coach for the Varsity Girls Golf Team at Cardozo HS in Bayside, New York. PSAL allows the team to get three lessons from a Pro. I always book Dale for my tryouts in August and Sept. He is amazing with the students. Within 15 minutes girls , who have never held a club, are hitting the balls in the air. He teaches basics and pitching & chipping and putting. He explains things in such a way; the girls just understand. They practice a lot and they get their initial start with Dale and that is why my team does so well. Dale Spina, thank you for all of your help over the years.
A true master!
It is an honor to be a student of Mr. Spina. Not only he knows what golf is all about, but he also knows some good jokes! His instructional video is a must!
Dale Spina is truly one of a kind!
I have been working with Dale for 4 years now and I can honestly say my game has dramatically changed for the better. Not only has my swing improved, but the way I approach a round of golf is incredibly different. Not just a round of golf, but also a wide variety of situations that each shot requires. Dale has a very unique way of teaching. It is such a way that it will get you involved not only with the physical demands of the game, but more importantly, the mental aspect in which you approach a round of golf. Ultimately, you will learn more about your own character on the course than you ever thought possible, which only leads to improvement. Dale Spina is truly one of a kind.
Dale helped me master the fundamentals
I have worked with Dale for over a year and it has been well worth it. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player looking to improve in a specific area, I recommend spending some time with him. Dale helped me master the fundamentals of an effective swing which has resulted in greater consistency and enjoyment on the course.
Dale Spina brings a smile to my face
Hearing the name Dale Spina brings a smile to my face. I have known Dale since I was 8 and I am now 15. Being little like that, I had not known anything about golf. Now however is a different story. Dale was able to teach me everything I know about the game and I am so grateful to have an experienced and smart instructor like him. He truly has taught me the ins and outs of the game that help me throughout all parts of the course. There are several drills and tips I can thank Dale for teaching me that I can use for the rest of my life to help me master the game of golf. Not to mention, I have him to thank for being able to always beat my dad in chipping and putting. Dale continuously pushes me to do my best. However, sometimes I may not be the best student but he remains to be the best teacher. Sometimes when I go to see him I can just be off, whether I forget something from the week before (oops) or I am just not understanding what he is trying to show me. Dale is able to teach me despite all of that, always. Even more than that, he can tell when I am off. He knows if he doesn’t see a smile on my face something is up and within 30 minutes he can change my mood by simply doing a certain drill that he knows I can execute or simply do my best. That is why he is so great. He is more than just an instructor. He is someone I look up to in the game by always staying positive and not getting in my head. He is someone who makes you feel comfortable with something foreign at the time and become comfortable with it and not embarrassed along the way if you mess up. He is someone I have so much gratitude for because without Dale I would not have the confidence or knowledge I need in order to play the game of golf.
Dale understands the faults in any golfer
Dale Spina has given my High School Girls Golf team lessons for the past 10 years. His approach of teaching with the simple swing approach and progressing to the full swing when ready is just right for the high school student and any golfer at any skill level. Dale understands the faults in any golfer and has just the right tips and drills for that person to fix their flaws. He has helped many of my students improve their game. Dale also interjects much needed humor to help the golfer relax. Dale is highly recommended when it comes to choosing someone to help improve your golf game.
Dale taught me how to apply the rich values of golf etiquette both on and off the course.
I have been a student of Dale’s for almost a decade now. Any attempt to quantify the amount of knowledge and skills that Dale has imparted to me through his lessons would be a disservice to him. He worked tirelessly with me during my formative years as a high school golfer to develop a swing and approach to golf that worked for me as an individual. Under Dale’s tutelage I shaved stroke after stroke off of my score, eventually culminating in me tying his 9-hole score (+2) during a mock match. In addition to making me a successful golfer in the technical sense, Dale taught me how to apply the rich values of golf etiquette both on and off the course. I have held fast to these values as a college student, graduate student, and now as a young professional in the business world where I continue to reap their benefits. I fully and whole-heartedly recommend that anyone and everyone interested in golf study with Dale. He’s just that good.
He is always the first and only person I would recommend.
I switched early on after 2 years from one pro who had more of interest in anything but the student to Dale. Dale came highly recommended. There was much work to be done, correcting my disastrous swing was the start. On a trip to Europe, Dale had me read a book, The Inner Game of Tennis. I thought this to be rather odd, but after reading it, I understood. Still, my mind gets in the way. Patience, he has a lot of. Golf terminology isn’t my strong suit. Dale has found other terms to help conquer this, enabling us to always move forward towards the next goal. Now 8 years later, he’s still my first line of defense when the mind gets in way. I’ve sat many times after a lesson to watch him with others. From the young inexperienced to the refined accomplished golfer. For these reasons and many more, I now have my son taking lessons with Dale. He is always the first and only person I would recommend.
